Financial Policy
We are committed to providing you with the best possible care and are pleased to discuss our professional fees with you at any time. Your clear understanding of our Financial Policy is important to our professional relationship.
Regarding Insurance
If you have dental insurance, we will help you to receive your maximum allowable benefit. Dental insurance is a contract between you and your insurance company. It is your responsibility to understand the extent and limit of your coverage, and to provide us with the necessary information to process your claim efficiently.
As a courtesy to our patients, we accept assignment of benefits from your insurance carrier. This allows the insurance company to pay us directly for services rendered according to your contract. It will not necessarily pay your account in full. Because it is probable that the insurance will not cover the entire fee, we will attempt to verify with them an estimated payment. If we are unable to verify your coverage, or if your plan will not assign benefits to the provider, then payment is due as outlined below for patients without dental insurance.
A word about dental insurance
Even though the cost of dental care has significantly increased over the years, the maximum levels of insurance reimbursements have remained the same since the late 1960’s. Many plans offer higher maximums that are comparable to rising dental care costs.
Regarding the Non-Insured
Patients who do not have dental insurance or proper insurance identification are expected to pay for services in full the day that treatment is completed.
You are responsible for the timely payment of your account regardless of insurance coverage. Balances older than 60 days are subject to a 1.5% per month service fee. Returned checks carry a $30 fee. Balances over 120 days old will be sent to an outside agency for collection and you will be responsible for all collection fees in addition to your outstanding balance.
We accept Cash, Check, Money Order, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express. If a long-term payment plan is needed, we may be able to assist you in securing interest-free financing through Care Credit, which is in the business of loaning money for dental treatment. Accumulating balances will not be allowed.
