What is a veneer?
A veneer is a permanent cosmetic restoration that typically covers only the front face of a front tooth. Veneers can easily change the color and shape of teeth. Veneers can close gaps, lengthen short teeth, and permanently whiten yellow teeth.
Are veneers the same as crowns?
Veneers are very similar to crowns. Crowns completely cover a tooth, where veneers typically only cover the front face. For that reason, veneers are less invasive than crowns and are usually done on front teeth only. Crowns can reinforce weak teeth, where veneers cannot.
