1.
What can I expect at my first visit?
Dr.
Telthorst prefers to do a thorough examination and get a complete
set of x-rays on new patients at the first visit. It is important
to become familiar early with what you not only need, but also
what you want. We then discuss your options and decide on the
type of treatment that is best for you. If you have an emergency,
we are usually able to see and treat you the same day you call.
Once you are comfortable a complete exam can follow.
2.
But can't I just get my teeth cleaned?
Sure you can. Busy schedules sometimes only allow enough time
for a simple cleaning. Our concern for the new patient is the
presence of gum disease. Gum disease is so common and patients
are usually not aware they have a problem. If gum disease is present,
"just a cleaning" is not an appropriate treatment. Again, if we
examine first, then we can give you the best treatment for your
situation.
3.
Do you accept my insurance?
We
will accept any insurance plan that allows you to select your
own dentist. We will do our best to determine what insurance benefits
you have and we will accept assignment of benefits from your insurance
carrier. Any difference between what the insurance company pays
and your actual fees will be payable by you.
4. What are my payment options?
Patients
with insurance are expected to pay their co-payment the day of
service. For others, final payment is due when your treatment
is complete. Treatment can frequently be paced to fit in most
any budget. Interest-free financing is also available.
